29 Nov – Despite the lacklustre reception of its sequel "Peninsula", "Train to Busan" director Yeon Sang-ho revealed that he is still interested to expand his zombie universe. In an interview to promote his new Netflix series, "Hellbound", Yeon stated that he still has some ideas when it comes to furthering the story following the events of "Peninsula".
As to the idea of turning "Train to Busan" into a TV series, Yeon said that he would love to do so. "In Korea, the circumstances are not very favourable to create a series in the Korean language with visuals that are comparable to Train to Busan the film and also, you know, I have to work with... the distributor that we started on the original film as well. So, I think taking into consideration all of those conditions, a film series would be the most feasible," he said. He also assured that another project in the same universe would also be closer to "Train to Busan" than its sequel, as in the story will be carried out in a small and restricted space.
