29 Apr – The long-awaited James Cameron sequel "Avatar 2" will finally be released this year, and has now unveiled its official title. Announcing the good news at CinemaCon, Disney revealed that the new movie, the first of the four sequels to the 2009 movie, will be called, "Avatar: The Way of Water", and will be released overseas starting 14 December.
On the other hand, Cameron, who spoke to the audience away in New Zealand where he's currently shooting, said that he has been working hard to put the final touches on the film and that it will push limits even father with high frame rate, higher resolution 3D and greater reality in visual effects. "I wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special. Every shot is designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution and most immersive 3D available. I think we pulled it off," he added. "Avatar 2" will take place in and around the ocean, with Jake Sully, who now lives with his newfound family in Pandora, must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their planet from a familiar threat.
