31 Oct – It looks like James Cameron's upcoming "Avatar" sequel is going to be a long one.

Sources recently revealed that the upcoming "Avatar: The Way of Water" is set to have more than three hours of duration, though no exact final runtime has been confirmed yet. At the same time, it was reported that the film has been rated PG-13.


It is noted that the original movie was two hours and 41 minutes.

Disney has made no comments about the runtime, though Cameron previously admitted that the film will be "a long movie".

The first "Avatar" became the highest grossing movie of all time when it came out in 2009, making USD 2.924 billion at the box office under its budget of USD 250 million.

The upcoming sequel will be one of four that Cameron has in store following the first film, with movie three and four currently filming, and five to begin production soon.

The sequel is set to be released in December.
