1 May - Much to the disappointment of Marvel fans in Brunei, it was recently reported that the Benedict Cumberbatch-starrer "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is banned in the country.
The Bruneian authorities did not elaborate more on the reason of the said ban.
It is noted that apart from Brunei, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have earlier banned the film from release in its theatres. The sequel marks the introduction and debut of the character America Chavez (played by Xochitl Gomez), who has been portrayed as gay in the comics.
The movie co-stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mondo, Rachel McAdams as Dr Christine Palmer, and Benedict Wong as Wong. It was also recently revealed that Patrick Stewart will be making his appearance as Prof X as well, much to the delight of fans.
The upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, directed by Sam Raimi, will be released on 4 May.
