16 Nov – Emily Blunt is echoing most people when she said that she's bored of Hollywood's cookie-cutter "strong female lead" characters.

The British actress, who is currently promoting her new TV series, "The English", told The Telegraph recently that she would roll her eyes whenever the word "strong female lead" is in the script.

"I'm already out. I'm bored. Those roles are written as incredibly stoic, you spend the whole time acting tough and saying tough things," she said.

"I love a character with a secret," said Blunt, referring to her character in the series. "And I loved Cornelia's buoyancy, her hopefulness, her guilelessness... Cornelia is more surprising than that. She's innocent without being naive and that makes her a force to be reckoned with. She startles Eli out of his silence and their differences become irrelevant because they need each other to survive. I thought that was cool."

Blunt herself is no stranger to playing strong female, having worked in movies like "Edge of Tomorrow", "Sicario", and even "A Quiet Place". However, what the actress seemed to hate was the lack of nuances in some strong female characters in Hollywood movies of late.

The actress will also be seen next in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer".
