30 May – It was revealed that Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are working together to adapt the latter's popular racing video game series, "Gran Turismo". Following the success of their most recent collaboration, "Uncharted", the two parties reportedly are eyeing Neill Blomkamp to helm the said adaptation.
First released in 1997, "Gran Turismo" is now in its seventh release, with "Gran Turismo 7" released in March this year on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Aside from the said adaptation as well as the previously released Tom Holland's "Uncharted", PlayStation Productions is also working on several other adaptations including "Ghost of Tsushima" and "The Last of Us" - the latter a series for HBO.
