5 Jan – There are a million reasons to love the immortal internet darling that is Keanu Reeves, but wouldn't you know it, he has added one more reason to do so.

LAD Bible recently claimed that the actor had donated 70% of his salary from the original "The Matrix" to cancer research, and since he made more than USD 45 million for the first movie after it became a huge success in 1999, roughly USD 32 million of those earnings went to helping those battling the disease.

It was reported that the reason for Reeves' generous donation was because of his younger sister Kim, who had already been battling leukaemia for eight years when the donation was made.

Kim was diagnosed back in 1991 and had spent a decade getting treatment before the cancer went into remission in 2001.

Despite his sister getting cured, Reeves continues to aid cancer research with the creation of his own fund.

"I have a private foundation that's been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children's hospitals and cancer research," Reeves shared to Ladies Home Journal in 2009. "I don't like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does."
