14 June – It looks like Malaysia is not the only country that will not be showing Pixar's latest entry, "Lightyear".
It is also unlikely to open in China, despite the country being the world's largest movie market, as Disney has declined to make the cuts asked by the authorities regarding the said scene. "We're not going to cut out anything, especially something as important as the loving and inspirational relationship that shows Buzz what he's missing by the choices that he's making, so that's not getting cut," said producer Galyn Susman earlier. It is noted that the kiss scene was previously cut by Disney themselves, but reinstated following an uproar from the LGBTQ employees and allies at Pixar Animation Studios. A prequel to Pixar's "Toy Story" franchise, the animated feature has Chris Evans voicing the lead character, Buzz Lightyear, a legendary space ranger.
