26 May – Madhuri Dixit recently stressed that her decision to become a singer is not just a whim, but a lifelong passion. The Bollywood actress, who made her singing debut via her song "Candle" in 2020, stated that she is always looking for new challenges after over 35 years in the industry.
Madhuri revealed that she used to sing when she was in school, as her mother is a trained classical singer. However, she was too busy in the early days of her acting career that she didn't really have time for it. "To me, it is not just singing but also putting down my thoughts and what I feel. I am not singing somebody else's song. It's from my heart. I actually wrote the words. That's why it is not the singing part, the second part to all this is that, for me, it is an outlet, and another extension of me. "Whether it's dance or acting, it's expression. So, voice and singing is also a different form of expression, and writing is another form. For me, it is a part of who I am," she said. Following "Candle", the singer released another song "Tu Hai Mera" earlier this month on her 55th birthday, saying that the song is dedicated to all her fans who have supported her over the years.
