25 May – Michelle Yeoh has been named one of this year's Top 100 influential people by the Time Magazine in the category of Titans. The news was shared by the Malaysian actress herself, who shared an image from the illustrious magazine. Author Kevin Kwan of "Crazy Rich Asians" fame was the one tasked to write the profile for the 59-year-old actress, and wrote, "She achieves the impossible again and again. Simply put, that's what Michelle Yeoh has been doing for decades."
Kwan added that Yeoh blows people's minds through her new movie, "Everything Everywhere All At Once" and that her performance made everybody realise that they will never get enough of her achieving the impossible. On the other hand, the actress, who was recently awarded the SeeHer Award at the Gold House's Gold Gala event, stated that voices like hers need to be heard and shared. "We all have superpowers: kindness, compassion, empathy, strength and ambition. Women must have their own agency over their lives, careers and dreams." Among other people named in this year's list include Simu Liu, Taika Waititi, Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, and "Squid Game" creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
