17 Oct – Filming has now begun on the set of the upcoming sequel to "The Nun".

The news was shared by producer James Wan on 16 October with a photo of the clapper board bearing the words "THE NUN II".

He wrote, "Photography has commenced on THE NUN 2 in France! With @michaelchaves performing the exorcism (directing) on this one."


Chavez, the director, has previously helmed the Conjuring spinoff "The Curse of La Llorona" as well as "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It".

The upcoming movie will see the return of Bonnie Aarons as the Demon Nun, with Taissa Farmiga playing the role of Sister Irene.

The previous movie, a spinoff "The Conjuring 2", made USD 365.6 million at the box office from a budget of USD 22 million, making it the highest grossing movie in the "Conjuring" series.

"The Nun 2" will be released on 8 September 2023.
