17 Nov – A third instalment of the hit YA movie, "Princess Diaries" is now in the works. As reported on Deadline, the film is currently being written by Aadrita Mukerji of "Supergirl" fame, and will be produced by original producer, Debra Martin Chase. Not much details have been released about the movie, and nothing has been said as to whether Anne Hathaway or Julie Andrews will return as Mia and Queen Clarisse.
However, it is noted that Hathaway has previously expressed her interest of returning and working with Andrews again. "If there's any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen," she previously said. Hathaway's rise to stardom began with the 2001 adaptation of Meg Cabot's novel, in which she plays an American teenager who learns that she is the heir to the throne of a European kingdom called Genovia.
