23 Feb – It looks like there is a high possibility for Tom Holland's adventure film, "Uncharted" not to be the only "Uncharted" film.

Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group Chairman and CEO Tom Rothman is indirectly saying yes to more instalments recently on a company-wide email sent on 21 February, following the film's US$44.2 million US box office taking and US$139 million worldwide so far, saying that the film is "a new hit movie franchise for the company".

"The ensuing impact is proof once again of the unmatched cultural power of real movies. On the heels of "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", and "Spider-Man: No Way Home", "Uncharted" is yet another blow to the theatrical naysayers and further proof of the efficacy of our model," he added.

Based on a series of action-adventure video games created by Amy Hennig and developed by Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" tells the story of treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), who alongside his partner Sully (Mark Wahlberg), embark on a quest to uncover the greatest treasure never found while being chased by two villainous fellow treasure hunters hoping to find the same fortune.

Sony has yet to officially announce plans for the sequel.
