Vijay's "Varisu" and Ajith's "Thunivu" to release on Pongal 2023

16 Dec – It looks like it's going to be a fight between two giants for the upcoming Pongal 2023, as it was revealed that both Vijay and Ajith will be releasing their movies at the same time.


As reported on Times of India, earlier this month, it was confirmed that Vijay's new title, "Varisu" will be released on 12 January, amid rumours that Ajith's "Thunivu" has set for a Pongal release as well.

Now, "Thunivu" distributor in the UK revealed that the movie is indeed releasing on the same day, which means that it is going to be a fandom war...

...or at least a good news for those who love both stars.

"Thunivu", directed by H Vinoth, is revealed to be a heist thriller and has Ajith playing an anti-hero of sort. Meanwhile, Vijay's "Varisu", helmed by Vamshi Paidipally, will be a family movie.
