Yogi Babu in new time travel movie

20 May – It was revealed that comedy actor Yogi Baby is set to team up with director R. Kannan yet again in a new movie after "Kasethan Kadavulada".

According to Times of India, the news was shared by the director himself, who said that the new movie, "Periyandavar", will be filming in mid-July or August.

"I had first narrated the one-liner of Periyandavar to Yogi Babu while shooting for Kasethan Kadavulada, in which he plays an important character. Later, when he was dubbing for his role, he saw the final output of that film and told me he was totally impressed and that we should start our next film soon," said Kannan.

He then added, "Yogi Babu does very few films as the lead, like Gurkha, Dhramaprabhu and Mandela. I'm happy my film is also on that list."

The script of the movie, which will be about time travel, has been in the works for three years, with the director admitting that he was inspired by Rajkumar Hirani's "PK", starring Aamir Khan.

"[In the movie], Lord Shiva comes to earth and meets a girl, and the film will trace their conversations and chronicle their journey. We are in talks with a leading heroine to play the part of the girl who meets God," he said.

On the other hand, "Kasethan Kadavulada" is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name, co-starring Shiva, Priya Anand, and Urvashi.
