17 Jan – Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson recently revealed that he is planning to bring the hit Eminem-starrer, "8 Mile" to the small screen.
The rapper, who found fame after being signed on Eminem's Shady Records, spoke about the plan in an interview with radio host Big Boy, saying that he is working with the legendary rapper to bring the story to television as a way to expose younger generations to Eminem's legacy.
The original movie, released in 2002, has Eminem (real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III) making his acting debut as Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Jr, a blue-collar factory worker who attempts to gain respect in the Detroit hip hop community. The movie co-stars Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and the late Brittany Murphy among others.
The film was both a critical and commercial success, with Eminem winning an Oscar for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" in 2003.
