13 Dec – "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Andre Braugher has recently passed away. The actor, most known for his role as Captain Raymond Holt in the police-themed sitcom, died on 11 December after a brief illness. This was confirmed by his publicist, Jennifer Allen. While most famous to the new generation as Captain Holt, Braugher won his first Emmy for his role as Detective Frank Pembleton on NBC's "Homicide: Life on Street" in 1998. He also won another Emmy for miniseries or movie for his performance as a master criminal for FX's 2006 series "Thief."
Fans took to social media to mourn the loss as they shared clips of Braugher in his role as Captain Holt. One fan wrote, "He did an amazing job playing Captain Holt on Brooklyn 99 always bringing a smile to my face. Lots of love to his family and friends." Another posted, "Andre Braugher, your portrayal of Raymond Holt brought immense joy to my life and countless others. Your talent and the character you brought to life will always have a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace." He is survived by his wife Ami Brabson, his co-star in "Homicide: Life on the Street," and three children. He was 61.
