"Barbie" is now Warner Bros.' biggest movie of all time

30 Aug - The blonde doll has now defeated the boy wizard, as "Barbie" surpasses "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2" to be Warner Bros.' biggest box office movie of all time.

The movie, which is now in its fifth week, has grossed USD 1,342,401,000 - which is more than USD 260,000 more than the final instalment of the Harry Potter franchise, with USD 592.8 million of it from domestic tally.


It is also currently the top grossing title in North America, and is set to pass up "Super Mario Bros Movie" global success of USD 1.36 billon, with Greta Gerwig now holding the title of the highest-grossing female director of all time.

It is currently at number 17 in the list of highest-grossing movies of all time, behind only "Black Panther", the latter at USD 1.347 billion.

In a statement released recently, Warner Bros Motion Picture Group co-CEOs Michael de Luca and Pam Abdy expressed, "Reaching this outstanding achievement is a reminder of the power of moviegoers - from countries in every corner of the globe - coming together to further the celebration of an iconic character that has entertained us for so many decades."
