4 Apr – Chris Pratt recently admitted that he took seriously his voice acting role as Mario in the upcoming "The Super Mario Bros. Movie". The actor, who acknowledged the heated debate surrounding his casting to play the supposedly Italian character of the Japanese video game, stated that he was quite nervous when the offer came to him, not wanting to ruin it for people.
Pratt stated that he saw that first when he was offered the same for "Lego Movie" previously, saying that it all changed when directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord successfully made it a lovable and popular movie. "So, it's a big challenge. Just because something has reach doesn't mean it's going to be a good movie and there's instances of people making bad movies and ruining people's childhoods. So, the pressure was on to not do that and, thankfully, we didn't. I think the movie is fantastic and I think your childhood is firmly intact," he assured. The film, based off the Nintendo games, follows Mario and Luigi, the two plumber brothers from Brooklyn who are transported down a mysterious pipe into a magical world.
