15 Sep - Her character might have died in the sequel of "Mamma Mia!", but Meryl Streep doesn't mind getting revived for the third instalment is there is one. The actress, who plays the role of Donna in the original 2008 movie, shared in a recent interview that she is "up for anything", when asked about another "Mamma Mia!"
"I'll have to schedule a knee scoping before we film, but if there's an idea that excites me, I'm totally there," she said. She continued, "I told [producer] Judy [Craymer] if she could figure out a way to reincarnate Donna, I'm into that. Or it could be like in one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals it was really her twin sister that died."
It is noted that Craymer previously admitted that a lot of fans were unhappy when the sequel killed Streep's character, but stressed that she had to do so because Streep was hesitant about doing sequels. Streep did appear in "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!" despite her character being killed off, although in cameo. Prior to Streep, many of the other original "Mamma Mia!" actors have expressed interest in coming back for a third movie, including three of Donna's men - Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, and Stellan Skarsgård.
