12 Sep - Shah Rukh Khan continues to prove that 2023 is his year, as his new movie "Jawan" generates millions at the box office. The movie, directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, made Rp. 384 crore (USD 46 million) at the box office in three days, with USD 30 million coming from India alone.
This means that the movie is now the third biggest ever opening for an Indian movie, behind SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" and "RRR". It has already overtaken SRK's previous comeback movie, "Pathaan", which made USD 130 million globally when it was released earlier this year and USD 36 million in its first three days.
Aside from having a director from the South, the movie also stars Tamil big stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. It is noted that SRK will have one more movie this year to complete his 2023 projects, "Dunki", which is his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani of "3 Idiots" fame.
