27 Sep – "The Nun II" continues its domination at the box office as interest in movies slows down this past few weeks, earning USD 8.4 milion in US box office in its third week. The movie faired a bit well compared to new addition " The Expend4bles", which only succeeded in bringing in USD 8.3 million in its first weekend in the US - the lowest debut for the action franchise. The horror movie has now amassed a global total of USD 204.2 million at the box office, after adding in its overseas total of USD 135 million.
It was reported that the low numbers in the US might be caused by the fact that it is the end of summer, though "The Nun II" continues to do well internationally. The film, which is the sequel to the 2018 movie and the ninth instalment of "The Conjuring" universe, takes place four years after the events of the first movie, as Sister Irene again faces the demonic nun Valak in France.
