On 5 August, the usually stoic actor posted a photo of him with Kajol on Instagram to celebrate her 50th birthday, writing, "Your laughter is contagious, your love infinite, and your energy... well, I'm still catching up!" "Despite all the pranks I pull, you're the one who brings joy to our lives. Celebrating you today and always. Happiest Birthday @kajol," he added.
The couple tied the knot in 1999, five years after they started dating while filming the movie, "Gundaraj". They have always been labelled an "unlikely pair" by the media and fans alike due to their contrasting personalities. Ajay is seen as the more serious man, while Kajol is known for her cheerful personality. Netizens would also post videos of him supposedly showing no interest in walking the red carpet with his wife while Kajol seemed to always have a good time with good pal, Shah Rukh Khan. The two became parents to daughter Nysa and son Yug.
