15 Jul - Alyssa Milano found herself getting slammed by Shannen Doherty fans after releasing a statement to express her sadness over the actress' passing.

The actress, who played youngest sister Phoebe Halliwell to Doherty's Prue Halliwell in the hit series, "Charmed", released a statement following news of the actress' death, which read, "It's no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at its core was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of. She was a talented actress, beloved by many and the world is less without her."

"My condolences to all who loved her," she added.

However, the actress made no mention of Doherty on social media, which prompted netizens to flood her comments section with "RIP Shannen Doherty."

One wrote, "So no post about Shannon passing away, way to take the high road there."

Another posted, "Not saying anything about Shannen?"

Meanwhile, others defended Milano, and blasted haters for blaming Doherty's death on Milano.

"I think Alyssa grieves more than you, she knew her personally and acted side by side with her, they were sisters! It is their own business, what caused the conflict, if there was one at all..." one posted.

In a December '23 episode of her podcast, Doherty and fellow "Charmed" star Holly Marie Combs alleged that it was Milano who orchestrated Doherty's firing from the show in 2001, before Rose McGowan came in to play another character in replacement. Milano had since denied the claims, calling it a "revisionist history".

In response, Doherty stated that she and Combs were simply telling the truth as it does matter what the truth is.

Shannen Doherty passed away on 13 July after years of battling cancer. She was 53.
