Anne Hathaway returns for "Princess Diaries 3"

7 Oct - After much anticipation, Anne Hathaway finally confirmed that she is set to return for "Princess Diaries 3".

The actress shared the good news on social media with a clip of her character Mia Thermopolis saying her famous line, "Shut up!" and wrote, "Miracles happen. Back to Genovia with [Adele Lim], [Disney], [Somewhere Picture]. The fairy tale continues."

The announcement came after it was reported that Malaysian screenwriter and director Adele Lim will be helming the third instalment of the hit movies.

Meanwhile, Adele Lim expressed, "SHUT UP!!! Here to celebrate the Queens and Princesses in all of us. Over the moon to be back in the Disney family, working with the legendary @debramchase, and my partner @chroniclesofnarna."

It is noted that prior to the project, Lim has already been known for the Disney animated feature, "Raya and the Last Dragon", and writing the movie adaptation of "Crazy Rich Asians".

In 2023, she made her directorial debut with Lionsgate R-rated comedy "Joy Ride" starring Ashley Park and Stephanie Hsu among others.
