25 Nov - AR Rahman's son AR Ameen has recently defended the music maestro over cheating speculations following his divorce from wife of 29 years, Saira Banu.

Ameen, who is a singer and music composer himself, took to Instagram to release his statement, after many speculated about Rahman's relationship with acclaimed bassist Mohini Dey who has worked alongside the maestro. Mohini has also recently announced her separation from husband and music composer Mark Hartsuch.

"My father is a legend, not just for his incredible contributions, but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years," wrote Ameen. "It's disheartening to see false and baseless rumours being spread."

"Let us all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone's life and legacy. Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let's honor and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us," he added.

In a previous statement, Saira's lawyer cited significant emotional strain and insurmountable differences as the reason for the separation.

The former couple, who are parents to three adult children, have previously requested privacy following the news.
