9 Sep - "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is off to a good start, amassing USD 145.4 million at the global box office in its three-day opening.

The success of the sequel to the 1988 movie largely came from US theatres, which made USD 110 million, while the rest of the amount came from 69 international box office markets.

It is noted that the film hasn't opened in key markets like France and Japan yet.

The dark fantasy comedy horror, directed by Tim Burton, stars Michael Keaton in the titular role, with Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara reprising their roles alongside new cast members Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe.

Meanwhile, "Inside Out 2" has now surpassed "Jurassic World" to become the eighth biggest movie of all time, earning USD 1.67 billion at the box office.
