Tim Allen confirms epic return for "Toy Story 5"

30 Dec - After the not-so successful reintroduction of Buzz Lightyear in the voice of Chris Evans, Tim Allen recently confirmed that he will be back to voicing the character for "Toy Story 5".

The actor, who was asked about his involvement in the fifth instalment of the franchise, was full of praises for the Pixar project, saying that it is a very clever story.

"Do you want to do five of these [movies]? I don't really believe it's about the money. I'm sure they want it to be a success, but that's not why they did it," said Allen. "Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn't have done it and they wouldn't have called me and Tom [Hanks]. It's really clever."

Allen also said that he just had a five-hour session for the character a couple of weeks back, and that it felt weird to get back in.

Asked which "Toy Story" he enjoyed the most, the "Home Improvement" star said, "There's nothing like Toy Story 1... that was such an amazing experience. It's hard to say. I'd probably give it to Toy Story 3."

Chris Evans previously took over in voicing the character for the 2022 standalone film, "Lightyear", which received mixed reaction from fans of the original.

However, Allen stressed at the time that the film had nothing to do with his version of Buzz Lightyear, which is a toy.

The upcoming fifth film will have Buzz, Woody and the gang facing a new threat to their existence - technology.
