The news was announced by Universal on 23 December, stating, "Christopher Nolan's next film 'The Odyssey' is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The movie has already cast Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron among others.

Unlike his previous period pieces like "Oppenheimer" and "The Prestige", this time, Nolan is going all the way to 8th century BC with the said Homer poem, which follows Odysseus' journey home after the Trojan war.

This will be the British filmmaker's first project since winning the Oscars for "Oppenheimer".
