29 Nov - Celebrity couple Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth are now officially divorced after 18 years of marriage.

The divorce was granted on 27 November by the Chennai family court, two years after they first announced their separation. It is noted that they cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for calling it quits.

The divorce finally came after both Dhanush and Aishwarya failed to attend court hearing three times.

They will be sharing custody of their children

It was back in January 2022 that Dhanush announced the news of their separation, writing, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate."

"Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."
