Elon Musk sued by "Blade Runner 2049" producer

"Blade Runner 2049" producers do not want to be affiliated with Musk or Tesla
24 Oct - First, he was accused of copying the designs of "I, Robot" by director Alex Proyas. Now, Elon Musk finds himself drawing the ire of "Blade Runner 2049" producers for his recent "We, Robot" event.

As reported by Variety, Alcon Entertainment, the company that produced the aforementioned film, filed a lawsuit against the Tesla CEO for referencing the 2017 film at the company's event where he showcased Tesla's robotaxi.

Alcon claimed that the image used was generated via AI, as the company had never granted Musk the permission to use images from the film.

"Any prudent brand considering any Tesla partnership has to take Musk's massively amplified, highly politicized, capricious and arbitrary behaviour, which sometimes veers into hate speech, into account," Alcon wrote in its lawsuit. "Alcon did not want BR2049 to be affiliated with Musk, Tesla, or any Musk company, for all of these reasons."

Citing copyright infringement, vicarious copyright infringement and contributory copyright infringement, and false endorsement against Musk, Tesla and Warner Bros Discovery, Alcon's suit seeks an injunction blocking Musk, Tesla, WBD and "anyone working in concert with them from further copying, displaying, distributing, selling or offering to sell 'BR2049' or protectible elements thereof in connection with Tesla or Musk, or making derivative works thereof for such purposes."

No words yet from Musk and Tesla regarding the lawsuit.
