"Freaky Friday 2" begins casting new additions?

10 June - It looks like the sequel to "Freaky Friday" has started its casting session as it was reported that "The Fabelmans" star Julia Butters is now in talks to join the movie.

No news as to what role that Butters will play in the movie, as Disney is tightlipped about the project. However, it is noted that the project has already tapped Nisha Ganatra of "Welcome to Chippendales" as director.

Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, who spearheaded the call to a sequel, are also in talks to return. Their comeback was also not confirmed by Disney.

It was back in 2023 that Lohan said that she and Curtis have spoken about making something "that people would absolutely adore".

Their hit 2003 movie made USD 160.8 million worldwide, and was based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. Prior to their version, the novel was adapted in 1977 starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster.
