"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" bumps up release to 22 March

11 Jan - Sony announced that "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" is pushing up its release date a week.

The movie, which was originally scheduled for a 29 March release, will now premiere on 22 March instead in order to capitalise on another week of spring break viewership in the US.

Other movies which have taken the slot include the Mark Wahlberg-starrer, "Arthur the King".

The movie, which is a continuation of the 2021 film, "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", will have the Spengler family returning to the original headquarter of the Ghostbusters, the New York City firehouse in order to team up with the original members.

The movie sees the return of Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, along with Paul Rudd's Gary Grooberson, Finn Wolfhard's Trevor Spengler, Mckenna Grace's Phoebe Spengler, along with original "Ghostbusters" actors Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray.
