"Heeramandi" gets two nominations at 2024 Busan International Film Festival

Hit Netflix series "Heeramandi" receives two noms
2 Sep - Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" has been nominated in two categories at the upcoming Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards (originally the Asia Contents Awards). First held in 2019, it is an awards ceremony organised by Busan International Film Festival and Korea Radio Promotion Association.

The series, which became a hit on Netflix when it came out in May this year, has been nominated in the Best OTT Original as well as Best Original Song for "Sakal Ban".

In a statement released by the filmmaker, he said, "It's an honour to be nominated for the Asia Contents Awards. I'm grateful to the jury and the audiences for this incredible recognition."

"Death Game" is also nominated in the same category
Other competitors in the Best OTT Original category include Korean series "Boyhood", "Uncle Samsik" and "Death's Game", the hit Chinese series "The Double", and Taiwanese crime comedy series "GG Precinct".

Meanwhile, "Sakal Ban" will be competing against Tanya Chua's "Learn to Live Again" (from the series "Imperfect Us"), "Sonaki" (from "Lovely Runner") and "Let's Try" (from Thailand's "Only Friends").

"Sakal Ban" is nominated in the Best Original Song category
