4 Mar– James Gunn has decided to shorten the working title of his first DC movie under DC Studio, "Superman: Legacy".

The filmmaker, who had been working on the script of the film earlier, shared a photo of the famous Superman logo on Instagram and announced that the principal photography of the movie has already started.

"Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman's birthday," he said.

Addressing the title of "Superman", he expressed, "When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025."

Back on 23 February, Gunn posted a photo of him with the cast of the movie, which includes the new Superman David Corenswet, the new Lois Lane Rachel Brosnahan, and the newly-bald Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

He wrote, "After the table read with the #Superman cast. Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day."
