12 Dec - Jamie Foxx has finally opened up about the mystery illness that had been reported about him last year that caused a medical emergency in April 2023.

In a new Netflix special titled "Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was...", the 56-year-old revealed that he actually experienced a stroke and nearly died from it during the period of filming his new movie, "Back in Action".

Stating that he started experiencing bad headache during production, Foxx said that his friends took him to a doctor in Atlanta who only gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home.

However, thanks to his sister Deidra Dixon, who could feel something was wrong, he was sent to another hospital, which was located not far from the theatre where he shot the Netflix special, and whose medical team saved his life.

"She had a hunch that some angels [were] in there," said Foxx. "Ya'll saved my life just 400 yards away from here in Piedmont hospital. They put me back together again."

Foxx said that at the hospital, his sister was told that he was "having a brain bleed that has led to a stroke" and that he would die if they didn't operate on him as soon as possible.

The actor also shared his near-death experience, saying, "Your life doesn't flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful. I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light. I was in that tunnel, though. It was hot in that tunnel. S***, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf****?"

"Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil like, 'Come on.' Or is that Puffy [Sean Combs]? I'm f***** around," he said jokingly.
