9 Dec - Amid rumours and speculations about the extent of Jay-Z's involvement with Sean "Diddy" Combs, a lawsuit has recently been filed in which the rap mogul's name was dragged into an allegation of rape.

The lawsuit, which was first filed in October in the Southern District of New York by Attorney Tony Buzbee, had the accuser (known only as "Jane Doe") accusing Diddy and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, of raping her at a house party in New York after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.


It stated that she was offered a drink that made her feel woozy, and upon going to get a rest in a room, was assaulted by Jay-Z while Diddy and another woman watched. She added that Diddy then raped her while Jay-Z and the other woman watched.

The said lawsuit originally named only Diddy, but was refiled on 7 December to include Jay-Z.

Buzbee stated that Jay-Z has received a letter from the accuser's legal rep to request a mediation to resolve the matter, but instead had filed his own lawsuit against her attorneys.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations. In a statement released via his company Roc Nation's X account, he claimed that the letter from Buzbee was a blackmail attempt.

"What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!" he stated.

Jay-Z continues, "These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case."

Accusing Buzbee of being an attorney who has a pattern of "these types of theatrics", the rapper said that only conspiracy theorists will believe such claims Buzbee levied against him.
