21 Nov - Madhuri Dixit recently admitted that she has never regretted her decision to marry husband Dr Shriram Nene during the height of her career.

In a recent interview with Galatta India, the actress, whose latest movie is "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3", said that she was happy to take a break from acting and settle abroad after meeting and marrying her cardiothoracic surgeon husband in 1999.


"For me, the paraphernalia was not very important. I loved what I do. I love acting, dancing and everything to do with my profession. Anything else is just bonus, like people considering you as a star," she said.

"But I haven't ever felt that way about me. So, for me, it was never like, 'Oh my god, I am going away from the public eye. I am getting married at the peak of my career.' I never thought of it that way," she added.

Madhuri said that at the time, she just thought she met the right person for her to finally achieve her dream of having a family.

"I love kids. So, having kids was big part of that dream. When people say, 'Oh, you were away, and didn't you miss [it]?', I be like, 'No, I didn't miss [it] because I was living my dream,'" she said.

The couple, who relocated to the US for a decade after marriage, are parents to two sons, Arin and Ryan.
