22 Nov - One of India's biggest 2024 movies, "Maharaja" will now gain new fans in China.

The movie, starring Vijay Sethupatji in the lead, will be premiering in China on 29 November, distributed by Yi Shi Films and Alibaba Pictures.

Yi Shi Films' rep Alexi Woo stated, "We are proud to bring Maharaja to theatres in China and share the artistry of Tamil cinema with a new audience."

Meanwhile, "Maharaja" producer Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios expressed, "The film has emotional content with an engaging screenplay that will surely enthrall the Chinese crowds."

The film, which became the number one Indian movie on Netflix following its June release in cinemas, stars Vijay Sethupathi as a barber in Chennai, who goes to the police station to retrieve his stolen dustbin only for the police officers to find his intentions to be something else.

Prior to its release, the movie will have special promotions and events aiming to celebrate the cross-cultural exchange between India and China.
