25 Jul - Fans of "Eternals" will be disappointed to hear that there is no urgency for Marvel Studios to be coming up with a sequel to the 2021 movie.

In a recent interview with Inverse, Marvel's Kevin Feige stated, ""There are no immediate plans for Eternals 2. There are, and I think you've seen maybe in a trailer we've released recently, an acknowledgment of some of those events. Certain giant things came out of the ocean."

He was referring to the recently released "Captain America: Brave New World" trailer, where it features Tiamut Island, a place that was created when the group of superheroes turned the emerging Celestial Tiamut into stone during the final battle in "Eternals".

It is noted that "Eternals" didn't do as well as other Marvel flicks when it came out in 2021. It only amassed USD 402.1 million at the global box office after being made with a USD 236.2 million budget.

Part of the reason was Chloe Zhao's involvement as a director, which meant the movie was boycotted in China due to the previous backlash she had over her statement regarding the country.

The film was also released just as most part of the world was still avoiding from opening public spaces due to COVID-19, while fans began to feel the superhero fatigue.
