2 Feb – Michelle Yeoh has opened up for the first time regarding her previous divorce from Hong Kong magnate Dickson Poon, whom she married back in the late '80s.
In a recent Goop podcast hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow, the Malaysian-born actress admitted that her inability to conceive is one of the main reasons for them to call it quits on their marriage.
"I knew my ex really wanted a big family... not just one son, but two sons or three even better. He was working hard for a big empire and he needed sons to carry his lineage," she said.
The "American Born Chinese" actress said that they tried everything, including IVF, but nothing came to fruition.

At the same time, Michelle also admitted that she wasn't able to multitask back then, and didn't know how women in their line of work were able to do it - juggling their careers and having babies, that is.
"With our work, we're always travelling. If you're filming outside of the country, maybe we'll not see each other for a couple of months. When both parties (are working), it's hard to find that balance," she added.
However, the actress has no regrets about the decision to end the marriage, and added that both she and Poon are still good friends until now.
