8 Mar – Ming-na Wen is joining the list of great actors who will be a part of the upcoming Sony's new "Karate Kid" film.

The news was shared by the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." actress on Instagram on 6 March, writing, "I am thrilled and excited to join the cast of the new #KarateKid film! Directed by @jonathan_entwistle. Comes out Dec 2024!!"

Just like all the new casting announcement, Sony is mum about the character Wen will play.

Aside from playing Melinda May/The Cavalry in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", the actress is most known to old fans as the voice of Disney's "Mulan" and Fennec Shand in "The Book of Boba Fett".

Ben Wang will be playing the role of the lead character, joined by Karate Kid alumni, Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan. Other co-stars include Joshua Jackson and Sadie Stanley.
