8 Mar - Nicholas Hoult recently revealed that he has been working out in preparation to play the supervillain Lex Luthor for the upcoming James Gunn "Superman" movie (previously reported as "Superman: Legacy").

The British actor, who spoke to Michael Rosenbaum on his podcast, "Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum", said that he was inspired by a bit in "All-Star Superman" comic book series, where Luthor spoke about his muscles being real.

"I kind of took that as a little bit of fuel for the fire," said Hoult, though added that he doesn't think the villain will have any shirtless scenes in the film.

Hoult also told Rosenbaum, who is the same actor who played Lex in the hit TV , "Smallville", that the latter's portrayal of the supervillain was the first iteration of the character he has ever watched, as the show was on during his growing up years.

"That was the show I would watch and see my first iterations of Superman and Lex and all those stories. I've since seen Richard Donner's movies and all the other ones and kind of seen some of the other performances but you're like the one. It's the best," he said.

The upcoming "Superman" movie will be released on 11 July 2025.
