30 Apr - Shawn Levy recently assured Marvel fans would not need to do any "homework" to understand his new movie, "Deadpool & Wolverine".

The filmmaker, who spoke in a recent interview about the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer, said that there is no need for fans to go through any other Marvel movies or Disney+ series before watching the said movie, unlike some of the Marvel superhero movies in the past few years.

"I was a good student in school. I'll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies," he said. "I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world. But I didn't want to presume that."

"This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research," he added.

In a previous interview, Levy stressed that while the movie is the third Deadpool movie, it is in no way "Deadpool 3", seeing that the "X-Men" icon Wolverine has as big of a part as Deadpool.
