23 Feb – David Leitch is out, and Gareth Edwards is now in. Universal recently announced that they have now hired the said "Godzilla" director to helm the new project, "Jurassic World". The news came just a couple of weeks after Leitch walked away from the project due to creative differences, which happened not a few days after he was announced as the director of the upcoming project that will be produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Partners. It is noted that Universal had to immediately find Leitch's replacement seeing that the film has a 2 July 2025 release date.
The new Jurassic World movie will not be a continuation of the Chris Pratt-starrer that began with the 2015 movie. It will instead have original "Jurassic Park" scribe, David Koepp as the writer. Gareth Edwards is no stranger to big budget projects, having helmed movies like "Monsters" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".
