8 Oct - Sarah Michelle Gellar has no need to explain why she is not in the upcoming "I Know What You Did Last Summer".

And that is because her character is dead.

The actress, who played the role of beauty queen Helen Shivers in the original film, revealed, however, that she still has a role in the sequel film, albeit unofficially.

"My best friend [Jennifer Kaytin Robinson] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity. So I'm always the one telling her, 'Well, that would happen, or that wouldn't happen with those characters,' so I do have kind of an unofficial job title," she said, lightheartedly.

It is noted that Gellar's character Helen died in the first movie, not long after she witnessed the killing of good friend Barry (played by Ryan Philippe).

The upcoming film, directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, stars Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King, with Freddie Prinze Jr. returning as Ray Bronson.
