20 May - "Baahubali" actor Sathyaraj reportedly will play the role of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic about the politician.

The actor, most known for his role as Kattappa in the blockbuster SS Rajamouli movie, reportedly has been cast in the project, though no official confirmation has been made for the time being.

It is noted that this is not the first time that a movie about Modi has been made.

In 2019, a biographical film titled "PM Narendra Modi" starring Vivek Oberoi was helmed by director Omung Kumar and penned by the actor himself. However, the movie was met with heavy criticisms.

Meanwhile, Sathyaraj himself has starred in a biopic before back in 2007, playing the role of Tamil social reformer and rationalist Periyar EV Ramasamy.

For the time being, he is busy with the new movie, "Weapon".
