2 Sep - Did you know that there is a Telugu Language Day? It is globally celebrated every year on 29 August to commemorate the birth date of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy, a prominent Telugu writer.

In conjunction with this, ZEE5 Global, the world's largest streaming platform for South Asian content, has revealed that Telugu is one of the top 2 vernacular languages consumed on the platform. Some of the most notable releases such as "RRR," "Karthikeya 2" and "Hanu-Man" have outperformed others in the vernacular category to become all-time top-watched movies on ZEE5 Global.

On the international front, the Award-winning movie became the first Indian movie to win a Golden Globe, albeit in the music category. It won Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu", which was composed by MM Keeravaani with lyrics by Chandra Bose.

The film also bagged the Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2023 in the United States, as well as Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu".
