1 Jul - After much speculations, Aamir Khan finally confirmed that he will indeed be teaming up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj on a superhero film.

Sharing the news with Pinkvilla recently during the promotions of "Sitaare Zameen Par", the actor said that he has been in talks with the "Coolie" director about the project.

"Yes, it is [a superhero film]. I am very excited for the film because Lokesh is an amazing director," he said.

However, Aamir added that the project will only go on production on the second half of next year.

"Once I am done with the [Rajkumar Hirani] film, I think, we will start shooting for it in September 2026. I am really looking forward to it. For me, it is exciting because I have not done an action film for a very long," he said.

The Rajkumar Hirani film in question is a biopic on film producer and director Dadasaheb Phalke.

It is noted that Lokesh himself has several projects in hand at the time being. In addition to "Coolie", which will be released in August, he is also set to work on the Raghava Lawrence-starrer "Benz", "Kaithi 2" as well as "Vikram Returns".
