Aamir Khan makes "Taare Zameen Par" free for online audiences


"Taare Zameen Par" coming to YouTube for free
5 Jun - Aamir Khan had fans of "Taare Zameen Par" jumping for joy when he shared that he plans to release the film for free on YouTube.

Released in 2007, "Taare Zameen Par" - stars, directed and produced by Aamir - tells the story of a gifted boy and his relationship with his art teacher.

The actor-filmmaker shared the good news during an event, when the event host said that they were unable to show a particular scene from the movie as it was not available on any platform.

To that, Aamir said that he has started a YouTube channel called Aamir Khan Talkies, and added, "I'll tell my team to upload Taare Zameen Par there free of cost. Let it stay up for a week or two."

The announcement came just a few days after he revealed on Raj Shamani's podcast that he has no plans to bring his new movie, "Sitaare Zameen Par" to OTT platform, as the practice hampers box office collection.

"Sitaare Zameen Par is releasing in theatres only. I am a cinema guy and I do believe in cinema and theatres, hence I decided to only release it in the theatres," he said.

"Sitaare Zameen Par" will be released on 20 June
